Friday again!

oh my, i am so bad at this...no wonder i could never journal, i just don't have the "commitment" or i just don't have anything to say! that's funny!

i have had a cold all week & been "theraflued" to the max! boy it sure has been good sleeping tho!

friday nights

this day, the 30th of september marks the 32nd anniversary of papa bill"s sober years. so happy birthday to you bill and may the Lord bless & keep you! i know this is a hard time for my bill as he deals with his health issues and continues to learn more everyday. Interstatial lung disease does not give up a lot clues as to how it occurs but only what the outcome of it can be. so we pray everyday that Jesus will keep bill strong in spirit and in body.
i love you bill.

Falling behind

i didn't think i could keep current with this blog site & have already proven it. oh well, i will do it when i can & not hold myself to anything.

to create more time for myself i have had sprinklers installed in the bigger part of my back yard..it cost me, believe me it cost me! but it is less for me to do on a daily basis. last year bill gave me a present of front yard sprinklers. in part of my back yard (under the weeping elm) i have removed all the grass and have been "designing" now i can get on with creating in my "bare" plot of land. i have a few things planted but am not happy with it but will keep trying new things.

for years now i have been wanting to "re-do" my kitchen. first i would like to have an old fashioned tin ceiling installed, so i ordered samples from armstrong. then i stripped down the kitchen this weekend. washed all the knick-knacks & such & put them AWAY. took down & washed the curtains, which i have had for 19 years and they area beautiful ecru lace. don't know if they will get back up yet. now i have to wash the walls and pick some bold alive colors to paint, tho there is not a lot of wall...my counter tiles extend all the way up to the bottom of the cupboards as backsplashes. the floor i might not have to replace, once i finish stripping it...it might be okay. wow...i am tired already!

friday nights

what i like to do on friday nights is watch everything that i taped all week long. it's really not a lot ..there are only a few shows that i really enjoy & sometimes i stretch it over the weekend. my husband, bill watches sports all the time, so i just quietly retreat to my room and read or on the weekends catch up on the taped shows. real exciting huh!


here are a few more pictures from our hawaii trip. we have found thru our years of traveling to the big island that we prefer the hilo side (eastern side) and have become very familiar with highway 137 from kalapana (where the road closes due to lava flow) on up to kapoho bay. you drive down the narrow road & the trees and foliage create an overhead canopy. i have also found that i can take a pretty good picture or two!
isn't this one interesting..these are giant ferns growing straight up.

Not on Thursdays

i don't like to cook dinner anymore so i try to eat out on thursday or friday...tonight is el pollo loco (or anything i don't have to cook) my kids are going to be disappointed when i come out this time!

well, i thought i would share some pictures of my shark adventure this summer in hawaii. I out swam a really big bull shark...he was only 50 ft. from me. in the picture you can see the lava rocks...well that's where I was snorkeling when they were pulling all the people out...but they didn't see me because I was behind one of those rocks! I have all my toes & fingers but I will never swim in the ocean (river, lake, pond or creek) again!

Wednesdays are busy!

i love my work so much...it is 7:00 pm and i am still engravng! but i really do love my job. my enclosed patio is my shop and that is where I get to create!

i am missing out on my church's 3-20 service tonight (20 minutes of praise-20 minutes of message & 20 minutes of prayer) but papa bill has gone..gotta get those prayers lifted up to HIM.

i hear that my son-in-laws brother james has had emergency heart surgery today. 2 heart valves replaced & a couple of by-passes....we are praying for you james!

earlier today bill & i went to see a lawyer and are having our will & living trust drawn up. this is something we should have taken care of a long time ago...we have procrastinated way too long.

it has been a beautiful sunny day in socal! i love the climate here.

First time

ahh...everyone has a first time for everything...for me today it is blogging.  i have a cousin who is very proficient at blogging so i will take my cues from her (maybe copy her style for  bit)..if she doesn't mind!

i don't know what my contents will be yet but i do like the idea of posting pictures of what i like best...thus my "FavoriteEverythings"!

so here is one of my very favorites..my daughter, rachel & her daughter, amber. this was taken 16 years ago this month and I just found the picture a few days ago, aren't they sweet!

it has been a very busy week staring with a baby shower (not my favorite thing to do) and then a family wedding.  the wedding of cousins brian & meghan was to perfection & such fun for all!

i am already thinking of dinner..steak for Bill, turkey burgers for me...corn on the cob & baked potato...all done on the bbq...that's easy!

i must get to the library today...i am so addicted to reading.

well, it might not be the most exciting blog (i am sure it's not) but oh well tomorrow is another day!
